Iona College in New Rochelle is sending out a warning to all students after two confirmed cases of a staph infection.
College officials say two athletes have been infected with an antibiotic-resistant form of the bacteria. The 4,400-student body has been notified about the staph infection through e-mails and text messages. Health officials say the infection can spread from person to person, most often with players of close-contact sports where sharing equipment is common.
College officials say they have taken extra precautions to clean facilities, including disinfecting locker rooms and equipment. Related Information Iona College
