More than a dozen teenagers from Iona Prep High School in New Rochelle are helping special needs students spruce up their classrooms.
The School for Adaptive & Integrative Learning at Ferncliff Manor, a residential and day school for special needs students, will be leasing space at Saint Matthews School in Hastings starting next month.
Part of the curriculum at Iona Prep is to complete community service, and one group of students chose to paint eight SAIL classrooms.
While completing the service hours, students say they are also building character and relationships with others.
