Investigators say that human remains discovered in Bloomington, Indiana, Monday are not those of an Edgemont college student who went missing there nearly five years ago.
Lauren Spierer, 20, was last seen about two miles away on June 3, 2011, officials say.
Forensic anthropologists excavated the remains, located on private property on South Rogers Street.
The home of a convicted sex offender in Martinsville, 30 minutes from where Spierer was last seen, was investigated in January. Both the FBI and Bloomington police have said authorities will not release information about that search.
