Gov. Andrew Cuomo released the findings of federal and state inspectors on the safety of CSX freight trains in the Hudson Valley.
Inspectors took a look at hundreds of CSX freight train cars and miles of tracks throughout the state. They found several hazardous materials violations and safety defects requiring immediate repair.
Gov. Cuomo along with other local officials are now pushing for stricter safety guidelines.
A representative for CSX says inspections are constantly performed, but that they welcome improvements.
