Indian Point Power Plant waste placed in safe storage facility

The waste from the Indian Point Power Plant is now in a safe storage facility instead of being dumped into the Hudson River, according to officials.
The nuclear fuel from the power plant in the village of Buchanan is sitting inside a special bolted container known as a dry cask storage.
According to the Department of Public Service, the move reduces the risk of fires and release of radiation.
