Indian Point has received a top score for its safety and overall operations from federal regulators.
Despite issues in 2008, such as the belated construction of a new siren system, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission said Tuesday that faulty sirens are mostly fixed, groundwater leaks are under control and safety procedures have been addressed.
The rating means the plants require only minimum oversight in the coming year.
