Improvements for a popular hiking trail in Putnam County are now in the final stages.
The Open Space Institute reports that construction on a 65-foot pedestrian bridge and the stabilization of the streambank are in the final stages at Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park.
The new bridge will complete the first small loop along the Hubbard Perkins Loop Trail.
The $400,000 project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
