Hair salons are reopening Tuesday under Phase 2 of reopening in the mid-Hudson region, for the first time in nearly three months.
"They're amazing, calling up on me all the time,” says Madilynn Tiso, owner of the Hair Wharf in Katonah, about her customers.
Tiso says her salon is booked solid for over three weeks, and it’s not even reopened yet.
"My first available appointment is in July,” says Tiso. "They have my back. I really appreciate it and my girls have my back. I have a great team."
When salons reopen, customers can expect curtains separating stations, a closed waiting room, and only essential items allowed inside.
"When the customers come in, it's just essential and unfortunately no purses,” says Tiso. “I have this bag where they can put their keys and phones and it has a mask."
While not required, the business owner plans on giving temperature checks to employees and customers.
Tiso has owned the Hair Wharf in Katonah for over three years, and even with restrictions, can't wait to reopen.
"A lot of emotions,” says Tiso. “I can't wait to be behind the chair. I love what I do and I love my clients. I love them to death."
Appointments for Hair Wharf can be made through their
