HV to get nearly $20M to help repave state roads
Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the state will spend $128 million to repave state roads, with a big chunk going to the Hudson Valley.

The Hudson Valley will get the largest piece  - nearly $20 million - which Assemblyman Thomas Abinanti says is much needed.

“I think the governor is recognizing that our roads are the worst in the state. And there have been a lot of complaints and a lot of damages," he says.

Some drivers like Shannon Duross, of Yonkers, say the road conditions can make driving dangerous.

“Some of them should have cones in them that they’re so bad… you’re swerving trying to get around them,” says Duross.

Greenburgh Supervisor Paul Feiner says it was his No. 1 priority, but he says he’s not taking the credit.
“Last summer…we had 36 summer interns working for the Town of Greenburgh and this was their summer effort,” he says.

Feiner says they lobbied, wrote letters and met with lawmakers.

“I’m really proud of the fact that they were listened to,” he says.
The funding is on top of the $100 million committed under the state's PAVE program to fix New York roads.
