Family and friends said their final farewells Thursday to a Major League Baseball prospect from Yonkers who was killed in a drive-by shooting.
As bagpipes played, Donna and Jimmy Nolan watched their surviving sons help carry the casket of their son Michael Nolan into St. Paul the Apostle Church.
Following the service, Nolan was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson.
Last month, the 23-year-old was shot in the head during a drive-by shooting in the parking lot of a Burger King restaurant on Central Avenue. Nolan died three weeks later at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx.
Police say the shooting may have been related to an argument about a drag race. No arrests have been made in the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in the case.
Last year, the left-handed pitcher was drafted by the Oakland A's.
