Hundreds turned out in Rockland County Wednesday to honor a longtime Somers teacher and football coach who died suddenly last week.

Dominic Narcisco was only 39 when he died in his sleep last week. Narcicso grew up in Tappan and later lived and worked in Somers as an assistant football coach and a physical education teacher for Primrose Elementary. Many in both communities were shocked by his death.

A somber procession was held at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church. Hundreds of students, athletes, fellow coaches and people from both Westchester and Rockland packed the church to remember Narcisco.

News 12 was told that more than 1,000 people attended wake services for Narcisco earlier this week. He was laid to rest at Rockland Cemetery.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Narcisco's 4-year-old son.
