Hundreds in Westchester turn out to discuss proposed budget
Hundreds of people in Northern Westchester turned out at a public hearing in Somers to discuss the county executive's 2012 budget.
Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino presented his budget to the county board and he vows not to raise taxes, while at the same time saving $100 million.
Many who came to the meeting were concerned about a 7.5 percent reduction in the county workforce and cuts to county programs.
Another public hearing will be held in White Plains next week. The budget must be finalized and approved by Dec. 27.
