While the freezing temperatures outside are sending many people running indoors, some brave souls took the ice Wednesday to skate.
"This is fairly warm when you think about the temperature," said Ossining resident Ritchie Brano.
Brano was one of many who took to Opperman Pond in Pleasantville, a "skate at your own risk" frozen pond.
"My brother and I are huge hockey fans. It's a nice day out so we decided to take a skate," said Alex Horowitz, of Pleasantville.
At Veterans Memorial Park in Ossining, workers were prepping their roller rink-turned ice rink expecting a big after-school crowd.
