Parades and ceremonies honored fallen military service members to commemorate Memorial Day.
Yesterday, hundreds lined the streets of Hastings to watch the Memorial Day parade.
The parade included marching bands, active and retired members of the armed forces and local firefighters. Classic convertibles also provided rides for the honorees and VFW members who took part in the festivities. "I think it just represents a cross-section of a whole lot of kids, a whole lot of adults. We saw the little tiny pom-pom kids. I think it's a special community celebration," says resident Louise Custard.
The Hastings Memorial Day parade was organized with the help of the Admiral Farragut American Legion Post and the James Daley VFW Post.
