The Super Bowl is not the only game in town this weekend. Two Hudson Valley pups are ready to compete in the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet.
Bea and Tom Barky will be putting their paws to the field on Sunday. The two didn't have an easy start to things. A few months prior, Bea, who is now Pepper, was found roaming a busy road in West Virginia. Pepper, who is deaf, was eventually adopted and her new family embraced her right away.
"Part of the process, they mentioned she was deaf, we said we didn't care," says Colin Campbell and Sarah Jorgensen.
Tom Barky, who now goes by Gunnar, was found abandoned in the Carolinas by Paws Crossed Animal Rescue in Elmsford. Gunnar found a foster and it became permanent.
"He needs to be a part of this family, like he doesn't want to go anywhere else. This is his forever home," says Regina Mezzone and Michael DaPice.
