Police across the Hudson Valley are amping patrols near Jewish houses of worship after the FBI issued a warning about a credible threat to synagogues in New Jersey.
The Ramapo Police Department says they are keeping a closer eye on houses of worship, saying, “The Ramapo Police Department is aware of the recent tweet sent by the FBI Newark Office. We are in communication with our law enforcement partners. We have increased our police presence in and around our religious communities and Houses of Worship. We ask that Houses of Worship increase their security posture. If you see anything suspicious, please notify law enforcement as soon as possible.”
Police in Spring Valley and White Plains have made similar social media posts.
So far, there have been no reports of any threats being carried out.
