Hudson Valley domestic violence agencies will soon be eligible for millions in federal funds, thanks to several acts reauthorized by the Biden administration.
This means significant cuts to funding over the last few years are ending, according to the director for advocacy group 'Fearless'.
Kellyann Kostyal Larrier says it will ensure an increase to the budget of agencies that apply for funding and a continuation of essential programs in Orange County.
"Without it, for us, it would devastate the organization. The majority of funds like ours are directly from VOCA and VOWA," says Kostyal Larrier.
The federal funds cover domestic violence training for judges, lawyers and law enforcement and cover specialized services and programs for victims.
