News 12's Most-Viewed: #8 - Hudson Valley avoids major hit from nor’easter
News 12 Digital is highlighting the most-viewed stories of 2018 as part of our 'News 12's Most-Viewed' series. This story on more storms hitting the Hudson Valley on Feb. 25. Original story below.
The third nor'easter in less than two weeks spared most of the Hudson Valley Tuesday.
News 12 meteorologists say the center of the huge storm moved well offshore, but brought occasional heavy bands of snow from east to west.
The snow tapered off around 12 p.m., but officials urged drivers to take extra time and drive carefully.
While snow fell consistently since midnight, most area roadways remained clear of accumulation. Snow accumulation on the ground was anywhere from an inch to 3 inches in some parts of the regions.
Temperatures were expected fall to below freezing Tuesday evening. The cold temperatures will cause any melted snow to refreeze, and black ice is expected to be a problem.
Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with the chance of a few more scattered flurries. Skies will clear up with temperatures in the 40s to round out the week.
