A Minisink Valley Central School District high school sophomore says she was the subject of a racist Snapchat post.

N'Senga Kinzonzi says that on Oct. 21, she was reaching into her backpack to pull out a book they were reading in class. Another student is accused of taking a Snapchat picture of her and captioning it with the “N” word, and calling for her to be lynched. 

Her mother says this isn't the first time her children have been the targets of racist attacks.

“There's a threat made on her life, and there was a call for others to participate in it. The caption said ‘We must lynch her,’” says Kinzonzi’s mother.

Minisink Valley School Superintendent Brian Monahan said in a statement that the “district has no tolerance for hateful language or any type of conduct that endangers the physical or emotional sense of safety and security of our students and staff."

A lawsuit has not yet been filed. The family and attorney are calling on the school district to give a different response.
