Schools in Chappaqua were placed on lockout after a home invasion in the area Wednesday.
New Castle police say a woman invaded an occupied home on Pond Hill Road with a possible firearm at 12:45 p.m. and stole belongings before she fled.
The Chappaqua School District called for a lockout and prohibited students from leaving the building or being outside until they received the all-clear from police.
Aside from multiple buses not running after school, dismissal and extracurricular activities went on as scheduled.
The suspect is still at large, but authorities say they have no reason to believe she is still in the area or a threat to anyone.
New Castle police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
