A Walden man was sentenced today to six months in jail and probation for a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a 21-year-old woman on an e-bike.
Logan Kelly killed Cristiana Kovacs on Route 52 in Walden in 2022.
The Montgomery woman was a passenger on the e-bike, driven by her boyfriend, when the pair were struck from behind.
Her boyfriend lost his leg in the incident.
Kelly pleaded guilty and was facing up to three years behind bars under a plea deal.
Prosecutors say he was also sentenced to serve five years on probation after his release from jail.
“Although there will not be another book, this chapter is finally closed. I pray as we continue forward, that this case may be an example for all to think twice before getting behind the wheel in all situations,” Cristiana's mother Jeanette Kovacs said.
