12h agoHighland Falls Mayor Joe Donofrio is facing new criminal charges stemming from the 2021 village election, according to officials.
Orange County District Attorney Dave Hoovler confirmed to News 12 Thursday that Donofrio is charged with petit larceny and filing a false instrument, both misdemeanors.
Hoovler says the allegations stem from the March 2021 election.
Donofrio is accused of misusing public funds and filing an altered petition with signatures on it.
News 12 reached out to Mayor Donofrio for comment but hasn't heard back.
