High-speed chase leads police through Rye, into the Bronx
A Maryland man is facing numerous charges after leading police on a high-speed chase Friday night.
State police originally tried to stop Anthony Haripersaud on I-287 for a traffic violation.
The chase continued onto I-95, and then into the city of Rye.
During the pursuit, officials say the driver nearly struck one Rye police officer.
The pursuit ended on I-95 in the Bronx, but not before the suspect rammed a police car and had to be forcibly removed from his car.
Haripersaud is being held at the county jail.
