White Plains city officials are teaming up with Heineken to make sure everyone ringing in the New Year in the city will have a safe ride home.
White Plains mayor Thomas Roach and city leaders are teaming up with Heineken USA to give people 21 years or older a complimentary ride home on New Year's Eve.
The program is called "New Year, Safe Ride" and is designed specifically for people celebrating New Year's Eve in the heart of White Plains.
"We have 30 fleet vehicles set up and our Heineken signage and you stand in line and if you're looking to go to get a ride in White Plains or anywhere in Westchester County, we're here to give you a safe ride home," says Tara Rush, Senior Vice President of Corporate Relations for Heineken USA.
The 16th annual White Plains Spectacular will feature live music, and countdown and a ball drop.
"White Plains has become a destination city," says Mayor Roach. "Over the years this celebration, which started with a firetruck dropping a ball, now draws around 20,000 people."
