On Tuesday, another round of heavy rain swept through the Hudson Valley, causing flash flooding, and leading to road closures in several areas.
Clarkstown was particularly affected, with at least six roads closed due to significant flooding.
Emergency responders were kept busy rescuing drivers who became trapped in their cars, emphasizing the importance of caution when encountering flooded roadways.
Joe DeStefano, of West Nyack, recounted having to block off a road to prevent more cars from attempting to pass through the floodwaters. "Some lady drove down the road and then we had to stop people because they thought they could make it, but they couldn't. There would've been about 10 cars there."
Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the flooding incidents. However, authorities are urging drivers to exercise extreme caution and avoid driving onto flooded roads where the pavement is obscured.
All roads have reopened, ensuring a smoother morning commute for residents in the affected areas.
