Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A woman is recovering today after getting hit by a Yonkers police cruiser. Police say they were responding to a call for backup on another call when the crash happened at Ashburton and Palisade avenues. They say the woman has minor injuries and they took her for treatment.
Witnesses say it looked like she was bleeding from her mouth. The department called what happened, "unfortunate."
Ramapo police are looking for several men behind a robbery and car chase. Officials say they responded to a tip that came in of some suspicious vehicles in the parking lot of an auto shop on Red Schoolhouse Road in Chestnut Ridge. As officers arrived, two Audis believed to be stolen from New Jersey sped away. As they drove off, another suspect broke into a white BMW. If the suspects are caught, they will be charged with criminal trespassing and grand larceny.
A Rockland County man is behind bars, accused of fraudulently getting pandemic relief loans. Police say Edwin Skepple, of West Nyack, is among 17 state and city employees being charged with submitting fraudulent applications to the SBA Paycheck protection program. The 40-year-old worked for the city's Department of Corrections. He now faces up to 20 years in prison.
