A Port Jervis resident, Butchie Middleton, has been sentenced for possessing a loaded firearm and distributing drugs with the intent to sell. The case began with a disturbance in July 2022, during which Middleton reportedly threatened another person with a gun. A subsequent investigation revealed his involvement in selling cocaine within and around Port Jervis. Middleton pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon and a controlled substance. He now faces a decade in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision.
William Knox III, of Kingston, has received a 14-year prison term for assaulting his ex-girlfriend in front of her child and later attacking a corrections officer at an Ulster County jail. Knox pleaded guilty to these charges in September but was recently indicted again on counts connected to multiple assaults on Ulster County corrections officers while in custody.
In New Rochelle, three men were arrested for allegedly robbing the "Snipes Clothing Store" on North Ave. The suspects reportedly entered the store and filled a garbage bag with Nike apparel before fleeing. Richard Bailey of Mount Vernon faces robbery charges, while Curtis Thompson and Charles Moye, both from Mount Vernon and Yonkers respectively, are charged with criminal possession of stolen property.
