Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.

An Orange County man is facing 20 years to life in prison in connection to a deadly shooting in Wallkill. Jamaad Murphy, of Wallkill, admitted to shooting and killing Matthew Napoleoni, 23, outside a restaurant and sports bar back in 2019. Murphy was the subject of a 14 month multistate manhunt before he was arrested in Rockland County last January.

Police in Montgomery say a driver asleep at the wheel caused last week's deadly crash on Route 17-K. They say the driver fell asleep, crossed over the double yellow line, and struck an oncoming car - killing a 44-year-old Buffalo woman. Brennon Hernandez, 20, is facing numerous charges.

Several officers at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility were injured after being attacked by an inmate. A female inmate allegedly faked a suicide attempt and then attacked the officers who came to her aid. A sergeant suffered multiple broken bones and was taken to the hospital. The inmate, who is serving an 11-year sentence, now faces disciplinary charges for the attack.

No, through about mid-morning tomorrow and then a much improved weather into the afternoon tomorrow. I mean, today looks great. We have a lot of sunshine this morning giving way to more of a mix of sun and clouds during the afternoon hours today. In fact, at times more clouds and sun by the afternoon, but it's certainly a very cold feel, but you can get out and about and enjoy this as long as you are addressed appropriately and you have to dress for temperatures that are in the middle and upper twenties in terms of what they feel like outside the actual air temperatures on the left hand side of this map in the thirties tomorrow though, middle and upper forties for the air temperature, much better what to wear today. It's all about the winter gear, still, whatever you dressed in yesterday. And if you were comfortable in it, do it again, if you were not as warm feeling as you wanted to feel yesterday, add an extra layer today, middle thirties again, feel like the twenties. It's breezy. It's dry at times more clouds and sun this afternoon and this evening and later on tonight it's partly cloudy. It's dry. It is just one more really cold night with lows in the low twenties. I can feel like the upper teens to low twenties into tomorrow morning. Tomorrow's highs though much more seasonable. The normal average high this time of the year is right. It's 47. So it'll be close to that all throughout the Hudson Valley under a lot of sunshine tomorrow. And then Friday, you will need to plan on a wet second half of the day on Friday. No flooding expected no high rain totals here, but there will be some nuisance rain showers, no time on Friday and those will be on and off through about six or seven in the evening on Friday. Once we get past that Saturday, mostly cloudy upper forties, there can be a spotty shower or two but nothing major on Sunday. Better chance for a couple of rain showers Monday of next week. If anything, a stray shower next Tuesday and then back to dry weather Wednesday through Friday of next week with highs mostly in the forties.
