Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
State police are on the lookout for an individual accused of theft in the Cortlandt Town Center Plaza. Surveillance photos show the suspect, believed to be involved in a possible theft at the ShopRite located on East Main. A 59-year-old man from Wappinger Falls was arrested for driving while intoxicated Thursday afternoon. The arrest followed reports of a vehicle displaying erratic behavior in the area of Broadway in Ulster Park. Further investigation led police to conclude that the driver appeared to be under the influence. The driver has been issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
A Florida man is now facing charges after being found in possession of an illegal firearm in Clarkstown. Police conducted a traffic stop on Main Street in New City, revealing that the 38-year-old man was carrying a Colt nine-millimeter semiautomatic and two loaded magazines. The man has been arraigned in Clarkstown Court, where his bail has been set at $10,000 cash or $25,000 bond.
