Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Mount Vernon police are asking for the public's help to find a man accused of shooting a woman. City officials say the shooting happened on West 3rd Street near Church of God Seventh Day. Police say they found 45-year-old Christie Tovia with a gunshot wound to her right hand. A city spokesman says she was taken to the hospital and is expected to fully recover. The suspect was seen wearing a backpack with a lion and a rust-colored fedora. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (914) 665-2510.
Westchester County police are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash on the northbound Bronx River Parkway just north of the city line. County police say the biker was killed he lost control and crashed a little south of the Yonkers Avenue exit. No other cars seem to have been involved, according to police.
Haverstraw police are reminding residents that they're still looking for Eugene Palmer. Palmer is accused of shooting and killing his daughter-in-law Tammy Palmer ten years ago. The town of Haverstraw police are reminding residents that they have been continuously working on this case. Palmer would be 84 years old if he is still alive. If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Palmer or those individuals assisting him with eluding capture, you're asked to contact the Haverstraw Police Detective Bureau at (845) 354-1500.
