Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A man on parole for second degree murder is now facing new charges in the City of Poughkeepsie. Police say they responded to reports of a disturbance at The Derby Bar & Restaurant early Saturday morning. Officers tracked down a suspect and pulled over Rasheem Thomison on Main Street. They say Thomison had a loaded handgun and cocaine on him. Thomison now faces multiple charges including criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
A shooting in New Rochelle left one person injured on Friday night. Police say they received multiple calls reporting shots fired around 371 Main St. just before 9:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found one victim with injuries that are not life-threatening.
Police also say a stray bullet hit a 13th floor at 360 Huguenot St. around a half-mile away. Authorities ask anyone with information about the incident to contact New Rochelle police at 914-654-2300.
Two people are recovering from a head-on crash in the Town of Ramapo. Police say it happened near Route 59 and Hemion Road. The two people involved were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. One driver was issued a summons for failure to maintain lane.
