Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Police are searching for a suspect in an assault at Hulme Park. They say they found a man on the ground, bleeding, with serious injuries to his face. They say the injuries appear to be assault related. That person is still recovering in the hospital. Anyone with information should reach out to City of Poughkeepsie police.
A man could spend up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty in Orange County Court to engaging in sexual conduct against a child. The district attorney’s office says Patrick Lynch of Bethel Connecticut admitted to having sex with the child younger than 13 years old. He'll be sentenced in September.Meanwhile, Eric Vasquez, of Newburgh, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison on his guilty plea of rape and criminal sexual act. Both Lynch and Vasquez will also be registered sex offenders.
The Fort Montgomery Fire Department is staying busy. Officials say they responded to four separate crashes on Thursday. One happened on Route 9W.Luckily no one was seriously injured in any of the crashes. Officials are now reminding residents to always be aware of your surroundings when out on the roads.
