A Port Jervis woman is facing a long list of felony charges after allegedly setting fire to an apartment with a family of six inside. Dawn Hulse, 50, is charged with six counts of attempted murder and arson. Authorities say she set multiple fires inside a Jersey Avenue apartment Tuesday morning with the intent of killing those inside. All six occupants of the second-floor apartment were able to get out safely.
State police have arrested a man in connection with the death of a woman in Dutchess County. Troopers say they found 35-year-old Danielle DiStefano inside her Rhineback apartment Saturday afternoon. Authorities say she died under suspicious circumstances. William Dickie is now charged with murder.
A White Plains mother will spend seven and a half years behind bars for trying to drown her two-year-old son in 2019. La'Quanaya Ward, 30, has pled guilty to attempted murder. The Westchester DA's office says she tried to drown her child in a bathtub at her home in the Coachman Family Center in White Plains. Ward's three children have since been placed in foster care.
