Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A man in Monroe is facing charges after being arrested three times in three days for allegedly trying to break into a police officer’s house. The Orange County District Attorney’s office says Mario Ramirez Valle was arrested twice last Thursday, and again on Sunday, after incidents near Lakes Road. News 12 is told he was highly intoxicated during those crimes. He was charged with trespassing, attempted trespass and was issued a restraining order to stay away from the officer. Authorities say they do not know if the officer was being targeted.
A Poughkeepsie police officer is recovering after officials say he was exposed to fentanyl while on the job. News 12 is told that city officers saw people in a car with drug paraphernalia on Mill Street. The officer removed one of the suspects from the vehicle and then he began to suffer an overdose. The officer self-administered Narcan and was rushed to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, where a second dose of the drug was administered. He was released hours later.
A husband and wife from Putnam Valley have been indicted for operating a prostitution business at multiple massage parlors, including some in the Hudson Valley. The U.S. Attorney's Office says Hong Ru Lin and Kena Zhao operated businesses in Westchester, New York, Queens and Putnam counties. Investigators say they managed a roster of women who worked at the massage parlors and performed sexual acts for customers.
