Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
The Ulster County Sheriff's Office says Jason Hepper, of Walden, intentionally drove his vehicle into Bordin Middle School and Wallkill Senior High School in Shawangunk. They say Hepper caused significant damage to both schools. Hepper, a former bus monitor for the district, was hospitalized after the accident. After his release, he was immediately arrested. He faces charges including criminal mischief.
A man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a car in Hastings on Thursday. Police received a license plate reader notification that a stolen vehicle was traveling northbound. Officers caught up with the car on Farragut Avenue. Francis Phillips, from Queens, was charged with possession of stolen property. Authorities say Phillips was also wanted by New Jersey prosecutors and faces additional charges.
A woman from Ulster County is facing charges for allegedly stealing $14,000 in cash, jewelry, and prescription meds from a home Rosendale Tuesday. The Ulster County Sheriff's Office detectives say they arrested a home health aide accused of stealing various items while working for a town resident.
