Authorities in Mamaroneck are on the lookout for a suspect involved in a home burglary. According to police reports, officers were dispatched to a residence on Old White Plains Road Saturday night following a homeowner's observation of activity on interior cameras showing two individuals inside. Upon arrival, law enforcement did not locate any suspects but discovered a broken rear window. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
Police are currently investigating a shots fired incident in Poughkeepsie. Multiple calls were received by 911 dispatchers regarding Crannell Street at approximately 5 a.m. Sunday. Upon police arrival, shell casings were found at the scene, although no suspects were present.
A kayaker had a fortunate escape after capsizing at Dennings Point in Beacon. Emergency responders located the individual 200 yards from shore. Assistance was provided by a Bannerman's Island Tour boat, which offered aid with a throw ring until Newburgh firefighters arrived. The victim was subsequently transported to Long Dock Park but declined medical treatment.
