Fugitive accused of defrauding Yonkers' immigrant community extradited from Washington state
yesterdayThe Yonkers Police Department has shared footage from the city's "AWARE" Crime Control Center traffic cameras, revealing how Friday's earthquake was seen around the city. Positioned on both Riverdale and Nepperhan avenues, the cameras captured the shaking in some of the views. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the 4.8 magnitude quake.
The Brewster Fire Department held a service on Saturday to bid farewell to William 'Billy' May, who passed away on March 29. Described as a 'rising star' within the department, May joined in 2020 and was remembered for bringing out the best in everyone.
Early voting has begun for Yorktown's special election for town supervisor. Acting Supervisor Ed Lachterman, a Republican, and Democrat Jann Mirchandani are competing to fill out the term of Tom Diana, who passed away in January shortly after being sworn in. Voters have until April 14 to cast their ballots, with the election scheduled for April 16.
