HEADLINES: Deadly Mamaroneck fire, West Haverstraw deadly shooting, dog rescue on I-95

Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A Mamaroneck woman has died after a fire broke out in her apartment. Village police say the fire started just before 11 p.m. Saturday at an apartment complex on Richbell Road. Village Mayor Tom Murphy and other residents broke the window of the apartment and firefighters pulled the woman out. She was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx where she died early Monday morning. Her name has not been released. The fire has been ruled an accident.
A North Carolina man will spend 20 years behind bars for the death of a West Haverstraw man. Jason Jabouin pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the fatal shooting of Ryan Franklin. Investigators say that shooting took place in May of 2020 in Nyack.
A state trooper in New Rochelle is being credited with a heroic rescue. A dog got loose on busy I-95 but the trooper stepped in -- and with the help of some maintenance trucks slowing down traffic - and saved the pup. The dog's paws were injured but News 12 is told he is expected to make a full recovery.
