David Gizinski of Gizinski Construction, LLC., a contractor in Liberty, is facing charges after allegedly scamming a homeowner out of $13,000. According to the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, Gizinski received a down payment for a roofing job last November. However, once he received the money, the homeowners were no longer able to get in contact with him. He has since been arraigned in court, where he faces a felony charge of grand larceny.

An Ulster County man, Robert "Bon" Baan, 42, has pleaded guilty in the assault of a neighbor. Baan admitted to assaulting his neighbor outside his Wallkill apartment in March of 2023. Prosecutors stated that Baan choked the neighbor until he lost consciousness and then punched him in the face, breaking his jaw. He is scheduled to be sentenced in June.

A man was rescued from the Hudson River by Yonkers police and fire crews on Saturday afternoon. Police responded to the Yonkers train station after units heard a man screaming for help from a tunnel under the station. Water rescue crews were able to save the man, who was clinging onto a rock in six feet of water with an incoming tide. The man was treated for hypothermia.
