Law enforcement authorities are actively investigating a decades-old cold case dating back to 1970, involving the discovery of the remains of 15-year-old Alice Lazen near Camp Smith in Cortlandt.

Lazen's remains were found in a sleeping bag at the bottom of a 60-foot drop in 1970. She was last seen in September 1969 near a hotel on West 48th Street in Manhattan, reportedly in the company of an individual suspected of attempting to lure her into prostitution

.Lazen was positively identified through dental records. Police urge anyone with information relevant to this case to come forward and contact law enforcement officials.

Saugerties resident Gerald Graff, listed on the state's sex offender registry, was arrested for neglecting to report a change in his residence, as mandated by law enforcement. Graff, a registered sex offender, is obligated to inform authorities about alterations in both residence and employment status. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to address this failure to report his address change.

Police apprehended a man following reports of gunfire in Poughkeepsie, locating the incident near Main and Rose Streets. Officials say Jaime Santos-Castaneda was found in possession of a handgun, designating him as a suspect in the incident. Santos-Castaneda now confronts several charges, including criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.
