Here are some of the stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
State police say two people, including a 1-year-old boy, were killed in a two-vehicle accident in the Village of Wappingers Falls Monday. Police say 48-year-old Lorraine Baker, of Poughkeepsie, was heading southbound on Route 9 and rear-ended another vehicle. Baker and 1-year-old Emilio Luis, of Poughkeepsie, died of their injuries. Luis was a passenger in the second vehicle. Three other people in the second vehicle sustained serious injuries.
Mount Vernon City Hall will reopen its offices today being closed due to flooding Tuesday. A city spokesperson says the flooding was caused by an aging boiler.
Scammers in Ramapo probably should think twice about sending fake documents. The Ramapo Police Department says it received a fax trying to dupe them out of money. The department responded on Facebook saying: “Mr. Ernest Moganedi – 30% of $120-MILLION certainly sounds enticing however -- we are NOT falling for it.”
