Haverstraw police are warning residents of a possible scam targeting Orange and Rockland Utilities customers.
Police say a number of residents have received phone calls from someone who claims to be an O&R representative.
They say the scammers then try and trick people into believing they owe the utilities company money, and that their service will be disconnected if a payment is not made.
Residents can call O&R's Security Services at 1-845-577-3526 if they have received any similar calls.
