A Haverstraw man was arrested after he allegedly attacked a man with a machete.
Police tell News 12 that Jeremy Barrett struck his girlfriend's son in the head after an argument at their Haverstraw home back in April.
Detectives say the victim suffered significant head and hand injuries.
They say the 42-year-old ran but was arrested shortly after.
Barrett is charged with attempted murder and could get up to 25 years if convicted.
