A Hudson Valley high school won top prize in a musical theater competition.
Hastings High School won the Metro Award for its production of the musical Les Miserables.
The three sold-out performances took place back in April.
The 36-student cast, consisting of 10 seniors, rehearsed for 6 1/2 weeks, working off a script that was more than 300 pages.
The production received 14 nods in the coveted high school musical competition, grabbing the top prize of best overall production.
A total of 48 schools from around the Hudson Valley competed for the prize.
