Some tenants in New Rochelle say that they went days without heat.
Tenants living at the Hartley Houses development at 81 Winthrop Ave. say they couldn't turn up their heat as temperatures dropped over the weekend.
Housing Authority executive director Steve Horton said that a temporary boiler was installed in the building on Friday. After being evaluated by inspectors, he said the boiler would be ready to turn up the heat in the building by Monday.
The New Rochelle Municipal Housing Authority requires landlords to turn the heat up to at least 68 degrees when the temperature dips below 55 degrees outside.
