The Village of Harriman is now taking legal action against the owner of a multi-family house that has been called an “eyesore.”
Officials say the home on Maple Avenue has a history of building and code violations which have not been repaired.
They say three out of five units are unsafe to live in.
Neighbors say the home has been in disrepair for years and is an blight on the neighborhood. "I worry about the property value of my investment and how could I ever sell this if I wanted to with this next door. No one would even consider it when they see this," says neighbor James Coleman.
The homeowners were unavailable to comment for News 12.
