NYPD: Suspect who shot 2 officers in Harlem dies

The suspect who shot Officers Jason Rivera and Wilbert Mora Friday in Harlem has died, the NYPD says.
Rivera and Mora were shot while responding to a 911 call about a domestic dispute between a Harlem mother and her adult son.
When the two arrived at the scene with a third officer, police say 47-year-old Lashawn McNeil was in the bedroom of the apartment. When Mora and Rivera began walking toward the bedroom, police say the door swung open and McNeil started shooting at the two officers then fled the apartment.
While McNeil was running out, the third officer shot at McNeil, striking him in the head and arm. He also remains in the hospital at this hour. This is the first incident this year where an officer has been killed.
The NYPD says an AR-15 assault weapon was found under McNeil's mattress.
McNeil reportedly succumbed to his injuries Monday, according to police.
On Sunday, Rivera's body was transported to Riverdale Funeral Home. Rivera's viewing service will be held on Thursday and his funeral will be held on Friday, both at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Manhattan.
Mora, who is suffering from a serious head wound, was transported from Harlem Hospital to NYU Langone Medical Center on Sunday.
