Haddonfield man sentenced to 4 years in prison for role in Jan. 6 Capitol riot
In a video he recorded, the DOJ says Patrick Stedman called himself part of the “first wave” that climbed the back part of the Capitol building and “broke down the doors.”

A southern New Jersey dating coach was sentenced last week to four years in prison for his role in the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol.
Patrick Stedman, 35, of Haddonfield, was sentenced to 48 months in prison and 36 months of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay $2,000 in restitution and a $20,000 fine, according to the Department of Justice.
The DOJ says, “Stedman used his substantial online presence to encourage and organize other men to come to Washington, D.C., on January 6, telling his followers the night before, ‘Now we FIGHT!’"
In a video he recorded, the DOJ says Stedman called himself part of the “first wave” that climbed the back part of the Capitol building and “broke down the doors.”
The Haddonfield man was also inside Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s chambers and offices and took “selfie photos of himself on the Speaker's Balcony.”
He was convicted on June 9 of obstruction of an official proceeding, a felony, as well as four misdemeanors.
