Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh has initiated construction on its 106th affordable home in the area.
The organization raises around $200,000 annually through discounted home-improvement item sales to fund the construction of a new house.
This year, they aim to secure about $350,000 for their next home on Ann Street.
A fundraiser has been launched to meet this goal. The property's challenging topography requires considerable excavation, adding to development costs. The completion of the house on Ann Street is expected in approximately a year.
