Families in Mount Kisco are on edge after a Greenwich man showed up on at least two separate occasions at Leonard Park, at one point approaching children.

County police say they responded to reports Sunday afternoon of a dispute between several parents and a man. The man, who is in his 60s, had reportedly approached their children and was seen playing baseball with them.

Police detained him for investigation and spoke with both parents and children who interacted with him.

According to police, there were no allegations made that the man attempted to lure any child from the ball field.

The matter was investigated as a suspicious incident. Police say that while his conduct was upsetting to those involved, there was no reported conduct that would result in criminal charges.

"We have kids here at least 12 hours a day, various sports and camp, and their safety is very important," said Mount Kisco resident, Theresa Flora.

The man showed up again at the park on Thursday afternoon.

While the park is open to those outside of the community, the man was detained and issued a formal trespass notice.

Police say he will be arrested for trespass if he comes back again.

Mayor Michael Cindrich told News 12 there are now extra patrols in parks and recreation spaces in the village.

Anyone with additional information regarding Sunday’s incident may call the Westchester County Police Mount Kisco Precinct at 914-241-1100.
